And her killing her cousin, who is nice and rejects the wealth just because she thinks that because he's a man he will give in eventually and become like them anyway.

Having killed off six people — a few of them in gruesome circumstances in a sauna or a sex club — Grace shows little remorse. He golfs, she spends a lot of her time getting things injected into her face, which has had the strange effect of making her look like a very old toddler. It made me think that it’s a good job that I haven’t been given a reason to wreak bloody revenge on anyone. This is a very interesting review but I could not help but think of the title “Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone” by Benjamin Stevenson (March 2022). This immediately loses any sense of suspense at what is to follow, as you know that she will be talking about seven murders, one of which she didn't do and six that she did.

I've not got much left of it now (as you know haha) buthave to agree some of the chapters feel so long! Doesn’t the big twist undermine Grace’s whole character and arc, as well as the book’s theme of smart women outwitting arrogant victims? If you like snark, irony, and dark humor, and are willing to not take the book too seriously this is fun and fresh. I can’t help liking her and I know I shouldn’t as she’s done some truly awful things to some truly awful people. How to Kill Your Family had a strong narrative voice and some amusingly cynical comments about the empty lives of rich people. But on the other hand, it is also a book about how the cards are stacked and how terribly men behave in so many different ways – there’s sexual harassment, there’s bullying, there’s a lot going on there. A seemingly firmly tongue-in-cheek dark comedy that didn't really work for me at all, the composition and plotting were fine, but the core concept pf targeting an entire family for the deeds of one, just didn't sit that well for m, of for the protagonists in my most humble opinion. Well, this happened to me with Grace, the protagonist and narrator of Bella Mackie’s debut fiction novel, How To Kill Your Family, the only problem is, Grace is a serial killer. HOW TO KILL YOUR FAMILY takes the proverbial saying "Don't get mad, get even" to exciting new levels. There are occasions in the narrative where you burst out laughing but it’s one of those laughs you know you shouldn’t release and so you check over your shoulder to check no one’s heard!
